Non-fiction about dogs and dog related subjects
Many books have been written about dogs, dog behaviour, up-bringing, dog origin, training methods etc. A jungle to navigate in.
My ground rule is that, if the book more than 10 years old, then I will not use time on it. A few exceptions do exist though.

I have selected four books, witch in my opinion, is very recommendable dog books that really rocks.

DOMINANS OG LEDERSKAP - FAKTA ELLER OVERTRO? 2002 /2007 (Dominance and leadership – Fact or superstition ?
Barry Eaton
Canis, www.canis.dk

The book
For many years the dog owner has been raised to think, that “leadership” is the solution on all dog problems, and that every dog problem is caused by the lack of leadership. Dog owners have been told that they have to dominate their dogs in order to avoid the dog taking over the leadership role in the family. The people saying so often draws parallels to the wolf pack and how the bitch treats its cubs.
But is this fact or superstition ? Is the dog really aiming to become the patriarch of the family ? Has it really got a build in need to climb the hierarchy and dominate its owner ? How valid is the comparison between wolfs
And dogs ? Is the dog a pack animal at all ?? and what is the alternative to the leadership thought ?
This is some of the questions that will be answered in this little book from the English dog instructor Barry Eaton. The book has already drawn attention in the US as well as the UK.
